Eric Lamaze - Canada's most decorated show jumper ever

Jumping icon Eric Lamaze has been a member of the Canadian team since 1992 and is undoubtedly the nation's most decorated rider. In the 30 years of his career, he has won countless medals at the world's most important competitions, including individual gold and team silver at his Olympic debut in 2008 and numerous top placings at the world equestrian games. His achievements have led to Eric Lamaze being ranked as the number one rider in the world on several occasions. Last month, the 53-year-old, who has been battling brain cancer since 2017, sadly and regretfully announced his retirement from showjumping competitions due to his health situation. What remains is an undisputed legend and a new fulfillment through the role as chef d'equipe for the Canadian Show Jumping Team! He has already won two silver medals with his team at national competitions this year, and has found a new purpose in passing on his knowledge and experience!
