If there is one thing Kate Shoemaker loves more than the thrill of competition it would be horses. Ever since her first FEI World Equestrian Games in Tryon in 2018, Kate has proved herself worthy of representing the U.S. Para-Equestrian Dressage Team time and time again! Together with her partner of eight years, Solitaire 40, Shoemaker was nominated for the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo where she aided the U.S Team in winning bronze, as well as placing 6th (grade IV individual freestyle test) and 7th (grade IV individual test) individually. Following up on her successful 2020 and 2021 season it came to no surprise that she was nominated for the 2022 ECCO FEI World Para-Dressage Championships in Herning, Denmark, where she once again swept the Grade IV classes winning individual silver as well as team bronze. Now Kate is focusing on her goals for the future - the 2024 Paris Paralympics!
