An unforgettable evening unfolded in Ocala as Team USA secured their first-ever victory in the Longines League of Nations™, delivering flawless performances in front of an ecstatic home crowd of 8,000 spectators under the guidance of Chef d’Équipe Robert Ridland, the American squad of Lillie Keenan, Aaron Vale, Laura Kraut, and McLain Wardrose to the occasion in the second leg of the series at the World Equestrian Center.
With three clears in the first round and a decisive double clear from both Keenan and Ward, Team USA edged out defending champions Germany by a single time fault. Belgium and Ireland followed in third and fourth, separated only by a second on the clock after two rounds.
The pressure was intense, with no discard scores in round two, but the USA delivered under the floodlights, showcasing experience, composure, and true team spirit. Course designer Alan Wade’s demanding track tested even the most seasoned pairs, yet the Americans stood strong, making this a historic moment on home soil.
