US Equestrian has awarded $33,000 in development grants to 69 licensed official applicants, continuing its commitment to fostering a strong and sustainable officiating community. The initiative, now in its fourth year, aims to reduce financial barriers for officials pursuing new licenses or promotions across all USEF-recognized breeds and disciplines.

Mats Troedsson, a veterinary specialist from the University of Kentucky’s Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Center, addressed the issue of antimicrobial resistance during a presentation at the 2024 American Association of Equine Practitioners Convention in Orlando, Florida.

A Quarter Horse gelding in Polk County, Florida, tested positive for strangles after showing clinical signs on March 27. The gelding is currently under official quarantine, with one additional horse identified as exposed. This marks Florida's 12th confirmed case of strangles in 2025.

Olivia Cliver achieved another victory with her horse Connor 69 at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show, where they won the $50,000 Southern Way Farm Grand Prix on April 5. Cliver reflected on their journey, noting that this show marked their first significant grand prix four years ago. With a double-clear performance, Cliver and Connor 69 completed the course in 37.

JJ Torano from Wellington, FL, has been awarded the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month Award for March 2025, marking his second consecutive month receiving this honor. Torano is a junior rider competing in the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series’ East Conference presented by Rood & Riddle.

Basel, Switzerland - Kimmy Palmer earned an 8.227 score in the Individual Women's Freestyle, securing a top five finish at the FEI Vaulting World Cup Final. With her horse Rosenstalz 99, Palmer showcased an elegant and fluid performance, receiving scores of 9.0 and 9.113 for two technical components from the judges.

Romeo 88, the Olympic gold medallist show horse, has officially retired at the age of 16. Harry Charles, who rode the Zangersheide gelding, expressed gratitude for their time together. Romeo had a distinguished career, representing Britain at two Olympics and contributing to team gold at the previous year's games, along with a bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships.

The entry list for this year’s Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L has reduced from an initial 42 competitors, with notable withdrawals. Great Britain's Tom McEwen has decided to withdraw his horse, JL Dublin, who has been his partner in achieving team gold at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
