From January 14–18, show jumping fans can look forward to a full week of elite competition as top riders and horses take to the arenas at some of the most prestigious winter circuits in the United States. With multiple major events running simultaneously, the week promises high-stakes sport, international talent, and exciting performances across a range of levels.

Taking time to develop the nine-year-old Ribery paid off for Venezuela's Luis Fernando Larrazabel with victory in Wellington's Premiere Challenge Cup Thursday.Luis and the Canadian-owned gray mare topped the lineup of 10 rider and horse combinations the first of 13 weeks of the Winter Equestrian Festival.The Wellington-based rider and Ribery were double clear in a jump off time of 39.83 secs.

A horse at a boarding facility in Palm Beach County as been diagnosed with EHV-1, accordiing to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.The infected horse is under quarantine, while 52 other horses may have been exposed to the virus. Nothing else has been officially reported as of the publishing of this article.

A Festive Tradition ReturnsThe festive season officially begins as the London International Horse Show returns to ExCel London from 18–22 December 2025, bringing five days of elite equestrian sport to the heart of the British capital.

On December 11, a 12-year-old warmblood mare located at a boarding facility in Washington County, Minnesota, tested positive for equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1), after exhibiting symptons December 9. Her treatment is underway, and she is displaying signs of recovery.Besides this confirmed case, there are 27 additional horses at the facility that have been exposed to the highly contagious virus.
