Ben Maher Closes Wellington Season with CSI3 Grand Prix Win*
Olympic champion Ben Maher capped off his 2025 Wellington season with a commanding win in the $120,000 Bainbridge Companies CSI3* Grand Prix aboard Ginger-Blue. The 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare (Plot Blue x Royal Bravour), owned by Jane Forbes Clark, stopped the clock in 37.33 seconds to secure the win from an 11-horse jump-off.

Wellington International to Become New Home for Global Dressage
Plans are underway to relocate international and national dressage competitions to a new area at Wellington International, near the venue’s main entrance. The space, currently used for hunter classes, is larger than the existing Global Dressage Festival grounds and is set to be re-purposed ahead of the 2027 winter circuit. A covered arena is also tentatively included in the proposal.

Kent Farrington Wins CSI3 Qualifier in Wellington*
World No. 2 Kent Farrington (USA) delivered a commanding performance in the $62,500 Arthramid Vet CSI3* Qualifier, winning aboard Myla during week two of the Wellington International Spring Series, presented by Florida Coast Equipment. The 10-year-old Holsteiner mare (Crunch 3 x Quadros), owned by Haity McNerney, topped a field of 73 on the grass derby field with a jump-off time of 44.76 seconds.

In a competitive CSI5* Grand Prix event, Kevin Staut from France achieved victory at the UAE, The President's Cup. Riding the 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion, New Libero One d'Asschaut, Staut completed a flawless Jump-Off in a time of 34.79 seconds. Last week, he had also performed impressively in the Longines FEI World Cup finals in Basel.

Equestrian Events Remain in LA28 Olympic Program
The equestrian disciplines of jumping, dressage, and eventing will continue to be part of the Olympic Games, as confirmed for LA28 in Los Angeles. This decision, made by the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), maintains the existing framework with six medal events: one individual and one team competition for each discipline.
