Cees Slings: The pioneer of freestyle music in dressage has passed away
According to reports from Eurodressage, Dutch composer and music producer Cees Slings passed away on October 14th, 2025, at the age of 73 after a brief illness. Slings achieved international fame for his musical contributions to dressage, among other things. He harmonized the movements of horse and rider with specially composed music, setting new standards in the sport of dressage.

Six Horses in California Test Positive for EHV-1
Recently, six horses in Los Angeles County, California, were confirmed to have tested positive for equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1). The initial report on May 16 involved two horses: a 20-year-old Thoroughbred mare, which was subsequently euthanized, and a 28-year-old warmblood mare. Following these cases, authorities placed 95 horses that were potentially exposed under quarantine.
