Equestrian Disciplines Confirmed for Los Angeles 2028 Olympics

The equestrian events of Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing will be included in the competition at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. This program will include six medal events: a Team and an Individual event in each discipline. The total quota of 200 places for equestrian athletes remains unchanged from the Paris 2024 Olympics, with 75 allocated for Jumping, 60 for Dressage, and 65 for Eventing.

The International Olympic Committee's Executive Board made this decision in a meeting today. FEI President Ingmar De Vos expressed satisfaction with the IOC's decision, highlighting the success of equestrian sports in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which garnered significant interest from audiences. The qualification procedures for the LA28 Games were recently discussed at the FEI Sports Forum and will be submitted for approval at the FEI General Assembly in 2025.

Equestrian is one of 31 sports included in the LA28 program, offering six medal events among a total of 351 events and 25 mixed events across all sports. The Olympic program aims to maintain gender equality and global appeal, adhering to guidelines established in 2023.
