Wilton Porter Wins the CSI2* $32,000 Qualifier at WEF

Riding for the U.S., Wilton Porter steered the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding Sternmarke 3 to victory in the CSI2* $32,000 Florida Coast Equipment Qualifier on Friday. The top 12 of 51 trips returned for the jump-off in the 1.45 meter class during week three of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, Florida. Of the 12 in the jump-off, six jumped double clear.

A close contest among the top three

Wilton Porter clocked in with a jump-off time just 0.31 seconds faster than Lucy Deslauriers who finished second aboard the 10-year-old Selle Francais mare Starlet. And Deslauriers was a mere 0.16 faster than Spain's Diego Perez Bilbao and CMD Scarlet, who took third place. Times continued to be close through sixth place.

6 Zayna Rizvi (USA) - ORYZON VAN HET SCHAECK - 0/43.56

Sydney Shulman Desiderio of Israel and Eyepop Semilly were the fastest four faulters in the jump-off, coming in seventh.

Lucas Porter, Wilton Porter's brother, and Kimba 171 finished 12th. Lucas Porter won the CSI2* $6,000 Florida Coast Equipment class on Thursday, with Vigakata.
