USEF Offers Members the Chance To Help Horses in Need

New in 2026, the U.S. Equestrian Federation unveiled a new feature called Lifetime Care Contacts, allowing USEF members to add themselves to a horse’s digital USEF record signifying that if the horse should someday be in need of financial assistance or a home, they would like to be contacted.

Connecting horses in need with people able to help

The goal of the feature is to help connect horses in need with people who are able and willing to help them. USEF recognizes that breeders, owners, athletes, and grooms care deeply for the horses who have touched their lives and want to be there for them if they were to fall on hard times in the future. Members requested such a feature.

Only members and those with a free fan account age 18 an older may take advantage of the program, either to be added as a horse's (or multiple horses) Lifetime Care Contact or to find out if their horse in need has a Lifetime Care Contact.

On the dashboard on the USEF website, Lifetime Care can be found under "Horse Welfare".
