Wellington International to Become New Home for Global Dressage
Dressage and para-dressage to relocate ahead of 2027 season

Plans are underway to relocate international and national dressage competitions to a new area at Wellington International, near the venue’s main entrance. The space, currently used for hunter classes, is larger than the existing Global Dressage Festival grounds and is set to be re-purposed ahead of the 2027 winter circuit. A covered arena is also tentatively included in the proposal.
The move is part of an agreement tied to converting the current Global site into a luxury residential and sports complex. Relocation can’t occur until the new dressage facilities are completed.
An earlier plan to shift Global to a 70-acre expansion site has been reassigned to jumpers, according to the latest updates. In the meantime, Global’s 2026 calendar features key changes, including moving the CDI5* to January and boosting its prize money to attract more international competitors.
