Sydney Mohrhardt and Saint Louis Shine in the Hamel NHS 3'3" Equitation Championship

National Horse Show

In a class that drew over 150 of the nation’s most talented equitation riders, it was Sydney Mohrhardt and Saint Louis, a striking Zangersheide gelding, who rose above the competition to earn the championship title in the Hamel NHS 3'3" Equitation Championship at the 142nd National Horse Show.

Throughout both phases, Mohrhardt displayed remarkable composure and finesse, riding with quiet confidence and an undeniable sense of partnership. Every transition, turn, and jump reflected hours of preparation and a deep connection with her horse — qualities that set this pair apart in one of the most prestigious equitation events of the indoor season.

A Remarkable Winning Streak

This victory adds to an already incredible fall for Mohrhardt, who has been on a remarkable streak. Earlier in the month, she was crowned 16–17 Equitation Champion A at the National Horse Show and captured the THIS National Children’s Medal Finals at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. Her performance in Lexington proved once again that her precision, poise, and polish continue to shine on equitation’s biggest stages.

The Hamel NHS 3'3" Equitation Championship, known for attracting top junior riders from across the country, serves as a pivotal stepping stone for those aspiring toward future success in the 3'6" medal finals. This year’s field featured deep talent, technical courses, and intense competition — but Mohrhardt and Saint Louis handled it all with the grace and determination of seasoned champions.

With this win, Mohrhardt joins an elite list of past Hamel champions and solidifies her place among the next generation of equitation stars.
