Conor Swail of Ireland on Catsurano Wins Toronto World Cup to Take Lead in North America Standings
Conor Swail on Catsurano won the World Cup at Toronto's Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Saturday night to move to the top of North American standings.
Conor who rides for Ireland and the 12-year-old gelding was clear in both rounds and a time of 41.24 secs. in the jump off on the 1.60m course.
Conor brought his points total to 38 in a bid to qualify for the World Cup Final in Fort Worth, Texas next April. Conor so far has competed in one Final of the annual global championships, in Leipzig, Germany in 2022.
Only two Americans other than Conor in the 20 starting combinations were clear in the first round.
Skylar Wireman, who rode in the 2024 Final, was runner-up in Toronto on the nine-year-old Barclino B in a clear jump off on 42.08 secs.
Mimi Gochman, the 2019 and 2021 champion in the North American Youth Championships, placed third after being eliminated.
