Mark Bluman and Ubilic win US$125,000 Mad Big Ben International Challenge

Mark Bluman on Ubilic in thrilling US$125,000 Mad Barn Big Ben International Challenge victory

TORONTO, Nov. 13, 2025--Mark Bluman and Ubilic thrilled the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair crowd with a narrow win in the US$125,000 Mad Big Ben International Challenge Thursday night.

The Colombian rider won with a double clear on the 1.55m course. The pair squeaked to the top in the jump off on 35.62 secs., just 0.11 secs. ahead of the runner-up, Nina Mallevaey of France on Nikka vd Bisschop.

Mark, who won the International Speed a day earlier and in his first time at the Royal, took over the ride on the 13-year-old gelding in February 2023 from his brother, Daniel who rides for Israel.

Mark has been successful in CSI4* and 5* competitions across North America, including the Major League Show Jumping team competition in Ottawa in August 2024.

Nina Mallevaey, who won the International Challenge on Destine to Be earlier Thursday, was also double clear with a jump off time of 35.93 secs.

Nina and Nikka competed on the French team at the European Championships this summer. Aged 25, she is ranked 17th in the world and the second highest woman behind Laura Kraut of USA.

USA team rider Brian Moggre on the 16-year-old MTM Vivre le Reve was third on 36.42 secs.
