Legendary stallion VDL Indoctro has passed away
Influential sire leaves a lasting legacy in international showjumping

away this morning at VDL Stud, just one day after appearing at the stud’s stallion presentation. Revered as a cornerstone of modern sport horse breeding, Indoctro was hailed by VDL Stud as “a legend who will continue to inspire generations.”
Ridden at the highest level by Ullrich Kirchhoff, the preferent stallion made an extraordinary mark as a sire. His offspring have competed successfully around the globe, including Olympic appearances by Imothep, Amarillo, Casadora, VDL Orestus, Vedor, and others.
Indoctro’s influence stretches across generations, with top progeny such as Cedric, Dante, I am Samourai, Top de Hus, and Ugano de Coquerie excelling in sport. His impact on both VDL Stud and the KWPN breeding program has been immense.
