Marcus Orlob partnered with the 11-year-old Jane to achieve their fourth straight win at the CDI4* Grand Prix Special held in Wellington, Florida, as part of the 2025 Global Dressage Festival. Despite showing scores near 75%, a spook and mistakes in the two-tempi changes dropped their score to 67%, before they recovered to finish with a score of 70%. Orlob described his ride as having ups and downs, noting a loud noise during the performance that may have startled Jane, which he said affected their focus mid-ride. Despite expressing some frustration over the minor errors, he acknowledged that finishing strong was important. The only other competitor in the class was Katherine Bateson Chandler riding Haute Couture, who completed her test with a score of 66.723%. Looking ahead, Orlob plans to compete in Europe with Jane, aiming to help her adapt to different environments and enhance their performance.
In other results, Jennifer Williams from Olympia, Washington, won the CDI3 Grand Prix Special with the 11-year-old gelding Joppe K, marking their first wins of the winter circuit after also taking the Grand Prix title on Thursday.
