The stars and stripes flew high on Saturday as the United States claimed top honors in the FEI Nations Cup of Traverse City at the Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel International Ring. In a commanding performance, Team USA led from start to finish, finishing the first round as the only team on a score of zero and maintaining their lead through the final round.
Precision and Poise in Round One
Anchored by a trio of fault-free efforts in Round 1, Mimi Gochman (West Palm Beach, FL), Charlotte Jacobs (East Aurora, NY), and Jacob Pope (Columbia, MD) left no room for error. Gochman, piloting her longtime partner Celina BH, delivered a cool and confident clear, while Jacobs and Korbach van de Renger and Pope aboard High FBH, owned by Sherri S. Crawford, matched her precision.
A Strong Debut for Bagnato
Making her senior Nations Cup debut, Mia Bagnato (Fishkill, NY) rode Ballyoskill Big Bucks to just a single rail, a score that became the drop round in the opening rotation. Though new to the senior level, Bagnato’s strong showing under pressure signaled her arrival as one to watch on the international stage.
A Confident Finish for Team USA
The U.S. squad’s seamless teamwork and composed performances under pressure secured them a definitive win in front of an enthusiastic Traverse City crowd, marking another highlight in what’s been an action-packed Nations Cup CSIO3* week at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival.
With rising stars and seasoned professionals riding shoulder to shoulder, the future of American show jumping looks as bright as ever.
