The Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva once again lived up to its reputation as one of the sport’s ultimate proving grounds, and on Sunday, Kent Farrington and Greya answered the challenge in emphatic fashion. From a field of 40 elite combinations, the American duo emerged victorious in the $1.4 million CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix, a key leg of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.

Designed by Swiss course architect Gérard Lachat, alongside assistant Grégory Bodo, the first-round track tested every element of top-level show jumping—scope, rideability, precision, and time management. With a tight 74-second time allowed and 18 demanding efforts on course, only the most efficient rounds advanced. Farrington and Greya delivered exactly what was required, producing a composed clear to secure a place among the eight combinations returning for the jump-off.

Once back in the ring, Farrington wasted no time asserting control. With trademark smoothness and calculated speed, Greya covered the ground effortlessly, stopping the clock at 40.04 seconds to set a standard that would not be matched. Ireland’s Shane Sweetnam came closest aboard James Kann Cruz, opting for a more measured approach that still delivered a double-clear round and second place in 41.39 seconds.

Belgium’s Thibeau Spits and Impress-K van’t Kattenheye, along with Germany’s Sophie Hinners aboard Iron Dames Singclair, also produced fault-free jump-off efforts, but their respective times placed them third and fourth in a highly competitive finish.

Farrington’s victory carried added significance, marking a return to the top step of the Rolex Grand Prix podium for an American rider in Geneva. It was a result warmly received by the packed Palexpo crowd and one that reinforced Farrington’s long-standing connection to the Rolex series—an alliance built on consistency, precision, and performance under pressure.

On a night where margins were razor-thin and expectations sky-high, Farrington and Greya delivered a masterclass, reminding the sport why they remain among the most formidable partnerships in international show jumping.
