The Cosequin Lexington 4*-S at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian has announced its initial entries, showcasing prominent figures from US eventing alongside participants from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Brazil.
Leading the entries is defending champion and U.S. Olympian Will Coleman, who has listed three horses:
Off The Record, Very Dignified, and Chin Tonic, all of which demonstrated strong performances at the recent CCI3* at The Event at TerraNova. Due to competition rules allowing riders to compete with only two horses in the CCI4*-S, Coleman and other riders with multiple entries may adjust their selections as the event approaches.
Among the notable entries is 2024 U.S. Olympian Caroline Pamukcu, competing with HSH Blake and King’s Especiale, along with 2023 Kentucky 5* champion Tamie Smith, who is bringing Kynan into the competition.
Seven-time Olympic veteran Phillip Dutton will participate with two entries: Denim and Possante.
His daughter, Olivia, who debuted last year, is also entered on the thoroughbred Sea of Clouds.
International participation includes Australian rider Ema Klugman with RF Redfern and Chiraz, and New Zealand’s Hayley Frielick who will ride Dunedin Black Watch and Sportsfield Lumiere. Canada is represented by Dana Cook and her horse FE Quattro, along with Jessica Phoenix, whose horse Freedom GS won at TerraNova 4*.
Brazil completes the international list with Nilson Moreira Da Silva riding Elmo. The Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S will take place at Kentucky Horse Park from April 24th to 27th 2025 and serves as a qualifier for the US Equestrian Open Eventing Series.
