The $15,000 USHJA National 3’ Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby attracted a deep field of 45 competitors, all navigating a thoughtfully designed and winding track that rewarded flow, accuracy, and rideability.
Iwasaki Sets the Standard Early
Augusta Iwasaki immediately made her intentions clear aboard Iwasaki and Reilly’s Small Love. The pair delivered an exceptionally fluid and confident first round, earning a standout score of 97 to take a decisive early lead.
Polished Handy Seals the Win
Returning for the handy round, Iwasaki maintained her momentum, guiding the 13-year-old Hanoverian mare by Chacco Blue through another smooth and efficient trip that scored a 94. Their combined two-round total of 191 proved untouchable, securing the victory and adding yet another hunter derby win to their growing résumé.
