Equestrian Disciplines Confirmed for Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games

The Olympic equestrian disciplines of jumping, dressage, and eventing will be included in the competition at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The equestrian program will feature six medal events: two each for team and individual competitions across all three disciplines.

The total quota for equestrian athletes remains at 200, the same as for the upcoming Paris 2024 Games, with allocations set at 75 for jumping, 60 for dressage, and 65 for eventing.

This decision was made by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee during a recent meeting. FEI President Ingmar De Vos expressed satisfaction with the IOC's decision, noting the success of equestrian events at the Paris 2024 Olympics, which attracted significant audiences both live and through various media outlets. The qualification systems for LA28 were discussed at the recent FEI Sports Forum and will be presented for approval at the FEI General Assembly in 2025 before being finalized by the IOC.

Equestrian will be among the 31 sports at LA28, contributing to a total of 351 events. The program also reflects a commitment to gender equality and athlete focus, in line with principles established in 2023. Additional details about the LA28 program can be found through official channels.
