Swedish Olympian Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfven has sold her Grand Prix horse Devanto, who will not be returning to Sweden from the U.S.A. Devanto, a 16-year-old Holsteiner gelding, is known for his performance and is bred by Holger Wesselmann. He was initially discovered by German rider Chrissi Speck as a foal. The horse changed hands multiple times before being produced to Grand Prix level by Jochen Vetters in 2016.
After competing successfully under various riders, including notable performances in the CDI events, Devanto joined Vilhelmson in early 2021, scoring well in several competitions. However, the connection has now ended, with Devanto set to move to Connecticut to train with Grand Prix trainer Lindsay Kellock, as confirmed by Lovsta. Vilhelmson expressed gratitude for their shared experiences, highlighting their success in representing Sweden and winning medals at the Swedish Championships.
Devanto will now serve as a schoolmaster for his new owner, Tracey Kelley.
