Boyd Martin Clinches Top Two Spots at Stable View

Boyd Martin and his horse Commando 3 topped the CCI4*-S event at the Stable View Spring International Horse Trials in Aiken, South Carolina. Following an engaging cross-country course, the duo finished with a score of 38 after incurring eight time penalties. Martin also rode Federman B to a second-place finish, achieving a score of 38.8, while Luke 140 secured fourth place with a score of 40.4. Martin praised the course designed by Helen West, highlighting its balance of challenge and inviting elements for the horses. Notably, during the event, Martin faced a tense moment when Federman B had a close call at a tricky combination, but navigated it expertly, showcasing his skill and experience.


The round saw some horse and rider combinations encountering difficulties, leading to a few look-offs and refusals, but overall, it was a competitive and energetic day. In the CCI3*-S, Sydney Hagaman and Charmeur won with a score of 35.5, while Chris Talley and FE Marco Polo took second place on 36.8. The CCI2*-S was won by Isabelle Bosley and Connor, who finished with a score of 24.4. Other divisions were also highlighted by strong performances as athletes prepared for upcoming competitions, including the Kentucky Three-Day Event.


The event concluded with positive feedback regarding the course designs, and a promising atmosphere for riders and their horses.
