Copper Canyon Achieves High Score in National Hunter Derby

Copper Canyon, owned by Adele Einhorn and ridden by Jennifer Jones, has won the high score award for the 2024 National Hunter Derby with a total of $38,775 in prize money. Jones also earned the title of top rider in the same event, amassing $60,825 in earnings, significantly surpassing the second-place competitor. The horse, referred to as "Bailey," was purchased as a four-year-old and has developed a strong bond with Jones since their first competitions together. Jones highlighted the consistency of Copper Canyon throughout the year.

Throughout the year, the pair participated in various competitions, including the Winter Spectacular Show Series in Ocala, where they achieved multiple top placements. In 2025, they progressed to competing in the Green Hunter 3'6" category and are currently leading the standings for the National Hunter Derby. Jones shared her excitement for the future of Copper Canyon. Additionally, Jones has embarked on a new business venture, Snow Brook LLC, which has quickly expanded. She plans to remain in Ocala until late spring before competing in Saratoga Horse Shows over the summer.
