Draw for 2025 Mars Badminton Horse Trials Announced

The draw for the 2025 Mars Badminton Horse Trials has been revealed, indicating that Kirsty Chabert will be the first to compete on May 7 with her horse Classic VI. She will also ride Opposition Heraldik Girl later in the event. Last year's champions Caroline Powell and her horse Greenacres Special Cavalier have been drawn second, while Caroline will also pilot High Time in the 98th position. Notable competitors include British Olympic gold medallists Ros Canter, who will ride Lordships Graffalo in the 58th position, and Tom McEwen, set to compete with JL Dublin in 44th place. Laura Collett, riding Bling, will wear number 87 and has decided to withdraw Hester.

Yasmin Ingham is placed in 45th with Rehy DJ, while Harry Meade has entered three horses, but with some competing at the Kentucky Three-Day Event, he will now ride just two. New Zealand rider Tim Price is drawn fourth with Viscount Viktor and will conclude the event with his horse Vitali. Jane Tuckwell, the event director, has reported that preparations are moving forward well, including ongoing watering of the course due to recent dry conditions. The event is expected to attract significant attendance and attention.
