Richard Rinehart added another impressive win to his winter circuit resume, capturing the top spot in the $30,000 OSU Galbreath Equine Center Grand Prix during World Equestrian Center – Wilmington’s Winter Classic 15. Piloting his seasoned partner, The Diamant Rose Z, Rinehart once again showcased his precision and speed in the Grand Arena.
Canadian course designer Michael Pegg set a thoughtful track that led to a thrilling jump-off duel between Rinehart and rising talent Izzy Beisel. The stage was set for a footrace, and Rinehart knew exactly what was required to secure the victory. Aboard the 14-year-old Zangersheide mare, Rinehart wasted no time attacking the short course, expertly navigating the turns and galloping through the finish in 40.471 seconds to clinch the win. The pair have been dominant throughout the Wilmington winter circuit, and this victory further solidified their partnership.
Beisel returned determined with two entries in the jump-off but couldn’t catch Rinehart’s blazing time. She secured second place aboard Contigo, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, finishing in 41.447 seconds. Third place went to Beisel again, this time with the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding Vegas H, stopping the clock at 41.863 seconds.
The competitive class served as another exciting highlight of the Winter Classic Series, proving that speed, strategy, and a strong partnership remain the winning formula in Wilmington.
