Day Two of A Sudden Impulse Features Competitive Classes

Ocala, FL – The second day of A Sudden Impulse showcased a series of competitive events. The day commenced with the $10,000 NSBA 3-Year-Old Open & Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle, followed closely by the $10,000 NSBA Maturity Non-Pro & Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure. The afternoon events included the $5,000 NSBA 4-Year-Old Open & Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle, culminating with the $10,000 NSBA 4-Year-Old Open & Limited Open Western Pleasure. Joy Wheeler and Johnny Tart's horse, R C Kola, achieved a notable success by winning both sections of the $10,000 NSBA 3-Year-Old Open & Limited Open Western Pleasure.

Bred by Wheeler and her clients, the gelding impressed judges in a field of 17 entrants. Wheeler commented positively about the venue, considering it a special place for showcasing her horse. In the $10,000 NSBA Maturity Non-Pro Western Pleasure, Jordan Macan and her mare, Hay Girl Hayy, secured top honors. Macan has formed a strong partnership with the mare, whom she affectionately refers to as Sushi. Despite being nervous competing alongside adults, she expressed pride in their hard-earned victory. Melanie Parker won the Limited title in the NSBA Maturity Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure aboard She Be Creepin.

The day’s final class, the $10,000 NSBA 4-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, was taken by Andy Cochran riding Diime Piece, a mare still early in her showing career. Cochran noted her expressive demeanor during the performance, which was well received by the audience and judges alike. Looking ahead, plans include participating in upcoming events in Kentucky. Additional winners included Katy Jo Zuidema, who claimed victory in the $5,000 NSBA 4-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle with What Is The Matter, and Jesse Jones, who took the Limited title with Easy Peazy.
