2025 Longines Global Champions Tour of Shanghai Set to Showcase Top Show Jumping Talent

The Longines Global Champions Tour in Shanghai is poised to present an exciting event from May 2 to May 4, 2025, featuring 52 elite riders from around the world. Fans can anticipate a weekend filled with high-level competition and drama, as the top three finishers from last year's LGCT Grand Prix of Shanghai are set to compete again. Defending champion Gilles Thomas will be joined by Edwina Tops-Alexander and Michael Duffy, both previous podium holders, sparking excitement for a riveting contest. Notable competitors include world number one Henrik von Eckermann, three-time LGCT Champion Ben Maher, and current champion Max Kühner.


With over 20 participants having previously earned a Grand Prix victory, the competition will be fierce, featuring riders like Daniel Deusser, Janne Friederike Meyer Zimmermann, Simon Delestre, Scott Brash, Philipp Weishaupt, Marcus Ehning, Pieter Devos, and Nicola Philippaerts. The event returns to the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Center, which promises an engaging atmosphere set against the city's iconic skyline. This year, fans will also see popular riders Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, Victor Bettendorf, Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli, Lorenzo de Luca, and Denis Lynch, alongside promising newcomers including Robert Murphy, Qinyu Pang, and Anastasia Nielsen.


The Shanghai leg of the tour is renowned for combining top-tier sport with rich cultural experiences, making it a highlight on the equestrian calendar.
