World No. 2 Kent Farrington is back in winning form, and this time he did it on the lush derby field during Week 2 of Wellington International’s Spring Series, presented by Florida Coast Equipment. Aboard the lightning‑quick 10‑year‑old Holsteiner mare Myla (Crunch 3 × Quadros), Farrington outran a massive 73‑horse starting list to capture the $62,500 Arthramid Vet CSI3* Qualifier, stopping the second‑round clock in a blistering 44.76 seconds.
The two‑time Olympian’s round left the rest of the field playing catch‑up. Fellow American Marilyn Little gave chase aboard La Contessa but had to settle for runner‑up honors in 45.45 seconds, while Ireland’s Robert Blanchette and Chardonnay slotted into third for owner Ridersmith LLC.
Farrington’s triumph adds fresh momentum to a 2025 campaign that already features back‑to‑back five‑star grand prix wins from the Winter Equestrian Festival. Those results have vaulted him to the brink of reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking he held for nearly a year in 2017–2018—an achievement that now feels tantalizingly close.
With five weeks of Spring Series action running through May 11, including another CSI3* stop, Wellington International continues to draw top talent eager to extend their Florida season. Judging by Friday’s fireworks, Kent Farrington and Myla are poised to keep the heat turned up on anyone daring enough to challenge them on the grass.
