A Strong Start to the Day

The day began with elegant rounds and precise riding in the $5,000 UF Veterinary Hospital USHJA National 3’ Hunter Derby, which welcomed 14 horse-and-rider combinations in a challenging hunt-and-go format. Riders first demonstrated classic style and rhythm before seamlessly transitioning into the handy phase, testing adaptability and finesse through the latter portion of the course.

Wexler and Gof Grey Goose Rise to the Top

Emerging at the top of the leaderboard was Megan Wexler, who guided Golden Oaks Farm, LLC’s five-year-old Holsteiner gelding Gof Grey Goose (Crack x D’or) to a confident and polished victory. Despite his young age, the grey impressed with composure, scope, and consistency, earning praise from the judges for his steady rhythm and expressive jump.

A Confident Win for a Promising Partnership

Wexler and Gof Grey Goose earned an 87 in the classic phase and an 89 in the handy for a combined total of 176, securing their second Derby win together. The performance reflected both the gelding’s growing maturity and Wexler’s experienced, tactful ride — a partnership that continues to show immense promise for the future.
