Sophie Hinners of Germany and her horse Viva Las Vegas W secured victory in the $85,000 The Dutta Corp. Grand Prix CSI2*, competing against a field of 40 entries. The event concluded the Longines League of Nations™ Ocala CSIO5*-LLN at the World Equestrian Center, featuring a diverse mix of experienced and emerging riders tackling a challenging 1.45m course designed by Alan Wade from Ireland. A total of seven riders from six nations achieved a clear first round to qualify for the jump-off.
Charlie Jones from Great Britain was the first to post a double clear on Montserrat OS, clocking in at 37.56 seconds. However, Kara Chad from Canada quickly surpassed that time with a new record of 36.57 seconds aboard Corinna Z. Hinners then took the lead with a clear round in 35.23 seconds, which none of the following riders could match. Former Olympic champion Rodrigo Pessoa from Brazil finished fourth after a four-fault round with Ester de Maugre, while world number one Henrik von Eckermann from Sweden placed fifth with Steely Dan.
Hinners praised her nine-year-old Holsteiner mare, noting her good character and rideability. After previously participating in two-star classes at the venue, Hinners expressed her satisfaction with their performance and the facility. The Longines League of Nations™ series continues to attract top show jumpers, with the next event scheduled for Barcelona in 2025. Fans can access event coverage on ClipMyHorse.TV.
