Lisa Goldman-Smolen from the USA made a notable return to competition at the WEC – Wilmington, winning the $30,000 Clinton County CVB Grand Prix on Saturday evening. After taking time off for family reasons, she returned to the arena with her trusted horse, Sovereign. Goldman-Smolen previously competed in the Fall Classic Series and marked her comeback with victories in both the Grand Prix and the $10,000 Welcome Stake earlier in the week. Her clear performance in the jump-off led to a decisive win, completing the course in 37.367 seconds. Sam Pegg from Canada placed second and third in the event with his mounts. The results highlighted a strong performance from several competitors.

In the $10,000 Futures Prix, Michael Janson, also from the USA, achieved an impressive victory aboard Ringo Star PS. Janson's double clear round set a winning time of 33.145 seconds, which remained unmatched throughout the event. He appreciated the preparation leading into the competition despite challenging winter conditions at his home base in Massachusetts. Christopher Schenk followed in second place with a close time of 33.238 seconds on his horse, Dominant Z. The results underscored the competitive spirit and the strong field of participants at the event in Wilmington.
