Majority of member organizations in favour of easing

A vote was held at the General Assembly of the World Equestrian Federation (FEI) in Hong Kong on the planned change to the so-called "blood rule" in show jumping.
The result: 56 member nations voted in favor of relaxing the rule, 20 against.
The German Equestrian Federation (FN) remains opposed to the change and emphasizes that the welfare of the horse is its top priority.
The new rule stipulates that blood on the horse no longer automatically leads to exclusion, but that warnings or wiping are permitted in certain cases. Critics warn that this could weaken trust in animal welfare in equestrian sport.
The FEI is expected to issue a statement on the decision today.
