Aaron Vale and the 8-year-old Oldenburg gelding Messbluecento PS won the $1,000 1.40m FEI 5* Normal Two Phase. It was the first class of week two at Desert International Horse Park for the final leg (Leg 7) of Major League Show Jumping for 2025.
Vale's fellow Archers team member Francisco Goyoaga Mollet of Spain finished second with the 9-year-old mare Chaccolina 9. Colombian Robert Teran and DSP Callas, a 13-year-old German Sport Horse mare, took third. Teran, with Team Helios, also finished fifth with Condara.
The Archers team finished second in last week's 1.50m FEI5* Team Competition, and Helios, third, so both have advanced to the Team Competition Final this Friday.
Top 5 Results:
1 Aaron Vale - MESSBLUECENTO PS - 0/29.06
2 Francisco Goyoaga Mollet - CHACCOLINA 9 - 0/29.26
3 Roberto Teran - DSP CALLAS - 0/30.54
4 Chandler Meadows - PUSKAS DE KALVARIE - 0/30.68
5 Roberto Teran - CONDARA - 0/31.02
Several riders elected to retire in either phase, sometimes incurring time faults in the first round and not advancing to the second phase. Presumably, many of the riders were saving their horses for competitions later in the week.
Vale and Messbluecento finished third last week in the $1,000 1.40m FEI 5* Normal Two Phase.
