In a competitive CSI5* Grand Prix event, Kevin Staut from France achieved victory at the UAE, The President's Cup.
Riding the 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion, New Libero One d'Asschaut, Staut completed a flawless Jump-Off in a time of 34.79 seconds. Last week, he had also performed impressively in the Longines FEI World Cup finals in Basel. Following Staut was Ireland's Cian O'Connor, who finished second aboard Iron Man, a 12-year-old Zangersheide-gelding. The third place was secured by Roger-Yves Bost with his 11-year-old SF-gelding, Embassy du Chateau. Completing the top five were Georgia Tame with Be Golden Lynx and William Funnell with Equine America Billy Picador, who had one jumping fault.
The CSI5* UAE President's Cup is a new 5* event on the calendar with an impressive prize fund of a million dollars. Hosted by the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, the 3 day event is a welcome addition to the season and we look forward to seeing how it develops in years to come!
