Dennehy Sets the Standard in $40,000 International Hunt & Go Derby

Hulla-Balou delivers top scores at Desert Circuit 3 to secure victory

Michael Dennehy delivered a commanding performance in the $40,000 Platinum Performance USHJA International Hunt & Go Derby at Desert Circuit 3, guiding Hulla-Balou to the top of the leaderboard in a competitive 27-horse field.

Hunt Phase Sets the Tone

Dennehy and Hulla-Balou impressed from the outset, producing a bold yet polished effort in the hunt portion of the course. Their quality earned a leading score of 93 and established them as the pair to beat heading into the go phase.

Go Phase Secures the Win

Returning for the go, Dennehy elevated the performance even further, showcasing handiness, accuracy, and consistency throughout the track. The pair received a standout score of 94, bringing their combined total to 187 — a score that ultimately proved untouchable.

Podium Finishes

Chelsea Brittner claimed second place aboard Aoki, owned by Greenley Achuck, earning scores of 88.75 and 94 for a two-round total of 182.75. Jason McArdle rounded out the podium in third with Kim Regis’ Hakuna Matata Batilly, finishing on a total score of 181.5.
