Meagan Davis on Toronto Lightfoot Wins Ocala CDI3* Freestyle

Meagan Davis on Toronto Lightfoot posted a personal best score to win Ocala's World Equestrian Center CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle, logging her fifth victory in the past two months.
Meagan, based in the Wellington area community of Loxahatchee and the 13-year-old Totilas-sired gelding scored 73.685% for the victory, a day after winning the Grand Prix. Meagan and Lightfoot, owned by Scott Durkin, have logged their five victories in eight starts in Wellington and two double-wins in Ocala.
Claire Darnell, based in Wellington, on the 14-year-old KWPN gelding Harrold S was runner-up for the third straight competition on a score of 73.450%.
The CDI3* Grand Prix Special was won by Nora Batchelder on the 11-year-old mare Nova, also on a personal best score. It was the duo’s the third international victory for the rider of nearby Williston in the past two weeks.
Nora and the Oldenburg mare scored 67.958%, the highest score for the partnership since beginning Big Tour almost two years ago. The partnership overcame an error in the one-tempi changes to be placed first by four of the five judges and fourth by the fifth official.
Jodie Kelly-Baxley of Destin, Florida, on Grayton Beach, winner of the qualifying Grand Prix, was runner-up on 67.149%.
Completing the USA sweep of the podium, Ellesse Gundersen of Wellington on Quintessential 4 placed third on 66.447%.
