Riding on a wave of success in the Junior Hunter ranks, Lilly Geitner and Banks Mill clinched yet another victory at the 2025 Winter Spectacular Show Series, taking the blue in the $37,500 USHJA National 3’ Junior Hunter Derby. This marks the pair’s sixth hunter derby triumph together, underscoring their consistent dominance throughout the winter circuit.
After earning an impressive 183 in the classic round—good enough for second place at that stage—Geitner chose a bold inside turn to fence four in the handy phase. The move paid off; it showcased the 14-year-old Warmblood gelding’s agility and elevated the pair’s final handy score to 179. Their two-round total of 362 secured the top spot, capping off the season with a flourish.
Geitner and Banks Mill closed out their winter campaign with style, precision, and a whole lot of heart. Their daring move in the handy round was more than just a strategic gamble—it was a testament to the trust and synergy between horse and rider. With six derby wins under their belt this season, the duo has not only made a statement but set the bar for excellence in the Junior Hunter division. As the curtains draw on the 2025 Winter Spectacular Show Series, one thing is clear: wherever the next course leads, Lilly Geitner and Banks Mill will be galloping at the forefront, chasing greatness with every stride.
