FEI President Ingmar De Vos welcomed nearly 300 participants to the 14th FEI Sports Forum at the IMD Business School in Lausanne, emphasizing the Forum's importance as a platform for discussion ahead of the FEI General Assembly.
During his opening address, he stressed the need to prioritize equine well-being over performance in training horses. The forum featured a keynote by Professor Stéphane Michel on innovative perspectives in business, sports, and life. A significant announcement was the formation of the FEI Equine Welfare Advisory Group, led by Jenny Hall, FEI Vice President. Göran Åkerström, FEI Veterinary Director, noted the group's aim to ensure ethical horse use in elite sports.
The session included contributions from various experts, emphasizing the significance of independent research and open dialogue in decision-making processes. Summaries of the day's sessions and additional resources are available online. A media briefing with the FEI President will follow the event.
