The first hunter derby Friday of 2026 at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington during Winter Classic 5 brought together twenty-nine junior and amateur athletes in the Standlee Sanctuary. After several weeks of competition in Florida, Lizzie Rinehart returned north to pilot her longtime partner, Bond (Clarimo), to victory in the $12,500 USHJA National Non-Pro Hunter Derby.
Polished First Round Sets the Pace
Despite time away from competition, Rinehart and the 13-year-old Warmblood gelding stepped seamlessly into the ring, producing a polished first round that earned the highest score of 90.
Handy Round Secures the Win
Returning in the lead for the handy round, the duo maintained their focus and composure, earning an 87 to secure a two-round total of 178 and top the leaderboard.
Showcasing a Seasoned Partnership
Rinehart’s victory highlighted both her skill and the seasoned partnership with Bond, showcasing their consistency and ability to rise to the occasion in a competitive field.
