Carina Cassøe Krüth excluded from CHIO Aachen start list
Organisers cite welfare concerns and competition criteria

Danish Olympic rider Carina Cassøe Krüth was initially selected to represent Denmark at CHIO Aachen’s CDI4*, but was unexpectedly removed from the list. Organisers later confirmed her entry was rejected due to concerns over horse welfare and a lack of international results in 2025.
The Danish Equestrian Federation had nominated Cassøe Krüth and Heiline’s Danciera following a strong spring season, including a silver medal at the Danish Championships. However, only one Danish rider was ultimately accepted into the CDI4*, with the spot going to Rikke Dupont and Grand Galiano.
CHIO Aachen stated that selection priorities included riders with recent top form, those outside the 5* circuit, and national competitors. Danish team manager Anne-Mette Binder acknowledged a misunderstanding, believing Denmark could field two riders as in previous years, and expressed sympathy for Cassøe Krüth’s disappointment.
