The penultimate week of the 2025 Summer Series opened in high gear Thursday morning as thirty-one international contenders went head-to-head in the $32,000 GGT Footing Grand Prix Qualifier CSI2* at the WEC Grand Arena. In the end, Olympian Lauren Hough (USA) and her own Clarisall Junior left no doubt, delivering a blistering performance nearly two seconds faster than the nearest challenger.
FEI Level III course designer Catsy Cruz (USA) set a technical, flowing track that demanded precision and efficiency from start to finish. Fourteen horse-and-rider combinations mastered the first round to advance to the jump-off, with eight producing another clear effort. Hough and the sharp, quick-footed Clarisall Junior tore through the short course in 39.75 seconds, setting a time no one else could match.
Last week’s Grand Prix Qualifier champion Sharn Wordley (NZL) once again landed on the podium, this time in second aboard Brin D’or De Haute Melen Z, owned by Della Wordley, in a faultless 41.78 seconds.
The third-place honors were shared by Juan Bancalari (DOM) riding Fraxinus Des Coeuries and Blythe Karolyi (USA) aboard Theo Duc T&L Z, who both clocked in at 42.38 seconds to round out a competitive day of sport.
