The Saturday evening session opened with pageantry, as a color guard and the Villanova University choir set the stage with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem. From there, the spotlight shifted to the FEI CDI-W Grand Prix Freestyle presented by Kingsview Partners, where 17 horse-and-rider pairs brought artistry and precision to the Dixon Oval.
A Captivating Performance Under the Lights
Riding to a freestyle crafted by Karen Robinson, Benjamin Ebeling partnered with Bellena, Ann Romney’s 15-year-old Hanoverian mare, to deliver a captivating performance full of rhythm, expression, and harmony with the music. Their seamless execution was rewarded with a winning score of 77.665%. Bellena, a daughter of Belissimo NRW out of Wellfair 3 by Weiser 2, shone under the lights as the crowd cheered the duo to the top of the leaderboard.
An Evening of Elegance and Emotion
The freestyle capped an unforgettable evening that combined patriotic spirit, equestrian elegance, and musical artistry in the heart of Devon.
