Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu Rides Jaccardo to Victory in Toronto World Cup Grand Prix

Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu rode Jaccardo to a clear victory in the World Cup Grand Prix at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Monday night.

The Canadian Olympic rider and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding scored 72.761% for their best score since beginning Big Tour in August. Jaccardo, owned by Jill Irving, was ridden by Brittany to the Lövsta Future Challenge title for developing Grand Prix horses at Wellington, Florida in March.

Brittany was one of five Canadians in the lineup of six combinations to start the Grand Prix in the first World Cup qualifier staged in Canada since 2015.

Camille Carier Bergeron on the 15-year-old mare Finnlanderin that she rode on Canada’s team at last year’s Paris Olympics, was runner-up on 68.087%.

Denielle Gallagher, a Canadian based in Ocala, Florida, on Come Back de Massa, 13-year-old Lusitano gelding, placed third on 66.848%.

The Freestyle is scheduled for Tuesday night to decide points toward qualifying for the championship Final in Fort Worth, Texas next April. USA riders currently lead the standings in North America that gets to send three riders and horses to the Final. However, four qualifying competitions are yet to be held in Florida and two in California with the best three placings counting.
