On the final day of the CSI5* ‘Continental’ presented by Rolex, it was Team Canada’s turn to shine. Mario Deslauriers delivered a masterclass with S&L Quatro Van De Meerputhoeve, taking the win in the last five-star showdown of the week at Spruce Meadows. Right behind him, fellow Canadian Kara Chad secured second aboard Igor GPH, turning the All Canada Ring into home turf in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
After a week largely dominated by Irish riders, the Canadians seized the spotlight. Course designer Peter Grant challenged the 25 international entries with a precise and technical track. Of those, six advanced to the jump-off, where Deslauriers’ years of experience and Quatro’s athleticism gave them the edge.
Chad kept the pressure on with a polished, fast round to claim the runner-up position, while Ireland’s Conor Swail continued his strong run of form, rounding out the podium in third with Casturano.
It was a fitting finale to a week of high-caliber jumping, and a proud moment for Canadian fans as two of their own topped one of North America’s most iconic venues.
