Cian O'Connor takes over Chatolinue PS

Irish show jumper buys gelding from Abdel Said

This week Cian O'Connor will make his international debut with Chatolinue PS, the former championship horse of Italian Riccardo Pisani, in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain. The 12-year-old gelding (Diablo Blanco x Stakkatol) will compete at an international level for the first time under the Irish rider.

Impressive rounds at the European Championships

Chatolinue PS already achieved impressive successes with Riccardo Pisani in the past summer season. At the Longines FEI Jumping European Championship 2025 in A Coruña, Spain, the gelding remained faultless in the first three rounds and thus qualified for the single final. Two months later, the pair put in another outstanding performance with a double clear round at the Longines FEI Nations™ League in St. Tropez-Gassin.

Through Belgium to Ireland

First Chatolinue PS was originally sold to Belgium, but within a few days, O'Connor acquired the gelding from Abdel Said to further strengthen his team of horses.

"Abdel and I are close friends and also work together in business. He told me that he had just bought Chatolinue PS and we immediately agreed that this horse would be an excellent addition to my stable - especially in view of the World Championships in Aachen next summer," explained O'Connor.
