A Fast Start in the 1.30m Two Phase
Wednesday at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show belonged to Laura Chapot, who wasted no time asserting her dominance in the opening jumper classes. Aboard Tyson Fury, a spirited 8-year-old mare, Chapot delivered a clear and confident round in the $10,000 1.30m Two Phase, crossing the timers in 26.39 seconds to secure the top spot.
Her competitive edge didn’t stop there — Calafornia, another of Chapot’s talented mounts, posted a time of 27.14 seconds to take second place, while Steven Bluman and Cachemire De Braize rounded out the podium in third.
Dominating Again in the 1.40m Two Phase
Later in the evening, Chapot returned to the ring aboard C&C Willow, a 10-year-old mare she has carefully developed through the levels. The pair produced a round that combined speed, accuracy, and balance, stopping the clock at 25.63 seconds to claim victory in the $10,000 1.40m Two Phase.
Close behind, Carly Campbell Cooper and Katcha HD finished second with a time of 26.24 seconds, while Evan Coluccio and Contario 8 completed the top three.
A Partnership Years in the Making
Chapot credited Irish show jumper Christian Coyle for helping to lay the foundation for Willow’s polished performance, noting that the mare’s progress reflects both careful training and patient development.
The win sets a confident tone as Chapot and her mounts look ahead to the $30,000 1.40m Welcome on Thursday and Saturday’s $100,000 Grand Prix de Grand National. With each horse performing flawlessly under pressure, Chapot once again proved her remarkable ability to prepare, pace, and produce consistent success across multiple divisions.
