Matthew Boddy and Keatingstown Miami claimed top honors in the $100,000 Grand Prix de Penn National at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show! In his first appearance at this storied event, Boddy defeated a stacked field in the Harrisburg arena—delivering a winning jump-off time of 34.26 seconds aboard his powerhouse mare.
Challenging Course and Fierce Competition
Oscar Soberon set a testing track for the 24 horse-and-rider pairs competing in the feature event. Only four pairs jumped clear in the first round, proving the course’s difficulty. Clear rounds in the jump-off were even harder to achieve, as no rider produced a fault-free effort.
Nail-Biting Jump-Off Finish
The win came down to speed and precision. Boddy and Keatingstown Miami posted the fastest of the four-fault rounds with a time of 34.26 seconds. Laura Chapot, last to go, looked poised to take the victory aboard C&C Willow—her Wednesday 1.40m class winner—but a rail at the final fence and a time of 34.53 seconds left her just behind.
