Nicolette Hirt and Dalton Win a WEF CSI5* Speed Class by Five+ Seconds

Nicolette Hirt and Dalton van de Lindehoeve Z, an 11-year-old Zangersheide gelding, outpaced the other 42 horse and rider pairs to win the CSI5* $1,000 Bainbridge Companies Speed class on the first day of competition during week five of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington.
Mark Bluman and the 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare Phelina de Septon were second, and Tom Wachman rode the 10-year-old Selle Francais gelding Genghis Khan to third place in the 1.40-meter class.

5 Stella Wasserman (USA) - PRECIOUS DWERSE HAGEN - 0/70.21
6 Charlotte Jacobs (USA) - INSTRUMENTAL - 0/70.97
Mark Bluman also came in ninth with Costa Quick PS, a mere 0.01 seconds faster than 10th place finisher Mario Deslauriers and Inside of my Heart. And Deslauriers was 0.06 seconds faster than Carlos Hank Guerreiro and H5 Nostalgie, who came in 11th.
Classes this early in the week can be warm-up classes for later in the week for some competitors, especially considering the number of top riders and horses who left the ring with time faults.
