Bred by Arthur and his father Philippe Marx he is by Grafentolz (also the sire of Lordships Graffalo, Grafennacht, Ellfield Voyager, RCA Patron Saint) out of Ile D’Ohe by Apache D’Adriers – a grand prix jumper son of Double Espoir, Apache was long-listed for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Philippe Marx rode the dam and the grandam. Church’Ile has been produced by Arthur and is the first 5* horse for the rider.
